Rate constant of the reaction of F atoms with methane over the temperature range 220–960 K

Reaction F + CH4 → HF CH3 (1) has been studied using a discharge flow reactor combined with mass spectrometry in the temperature range 220–960 K. The rate constant of reaction was determined both absolute and relative measurements: k1 = (1.28 ± 0.04) × 10−10 exp(−(219 9)/T) cm3molecule−1s−1 (the uncertainties represent precision at 2σ level, estimated total uncertainty on being 15% all temperatures). kinetic data from present work are discussed comparison previous measurements theoretical calculations.
